Leadership 101 - Know yourself, know your people, give them what they need and want, then get out of their way.
I'm not going to dive into the intricacies of leadership and situation leadership and engagement right now, but know this:
Part of leading is removing the obstacles in front of people. The more obstacles you remove, the happier they will be and the more engaged they will be. Understanding peoples needs and helping them fulfill those needs inside your co-op is huge on your path to success.
Now, my brain fart. I created this beautiful site. The biggest resource to the community is the searchable co-op listings... visible only if you have an account. Big (big, big, big, big) obstacle... duh. Good job Smart...
So, a little light coding and some security measures put in place, and now the whole world can view the listings, but you will still need an account to enter or maintain one.
Co-op leaders, is something you do standing in the way of people enjoying the game? I once visited a friend's co-op. They put up an overnight project rather early. I challenged them to hold off for 2 hours, and those that didn't go to bed kept racking up points and socializing for another 2 hours. If somebody gets up early, is it fair to ask them to hold wheat for 4 hours till patty starts for the masses? Questions...
Happy Farming! Don't be Smart like me... lol
